If I don’t have the right to punish vandals, I can’t delegate that right to anyone else to do it on my behalf.
The concept that “taking the law into your own hands” is unacceptable is silly.
In certain situations, yes. But as a general principle, that’s a good way to get yourself duckwalked into a police cruiser, hopefully not the same one as the guy who offended you.
