There is no way the police could have been gassing students in the dormitories. I attended Pitt and lived in the dorms. There are security doors leading to the dorm buildings. You need to show ID and be buzzed in. This probably happened somewhere else on or near campus.
If you come to Pittsburgh to go to school, get an education, learn some respect, fine. If you cause problems, the Pittsburgh Police are a force you don’t want to mess with. Otherwise, it’s best you go to Berkley!

Uhhh... are you delusional? They weren’t “in their dorm” they were on the street or on the balcony where rioters were throwing rocks at the police. They weren’t attacked by “chemical weapons”.
If you went to Pitt you know eactly where it happened because that pedestrian overpass is the first thing most notice coming into the Pitt campus.
If it turns out these kids really were just innocent observers, I would hope that people posting on "Free Republic" wouldn't continue to cheer for the way they seem to have been treated. Sadly though, that is probably hoping for too much.
In this case I'd ask the local democrat organization, or the 'campus democrats' at the university. I'm sure that they could help straighten this out.

OK...I watched the video. This is the area outside some of the dorms and the Student Union building. The walkway leads to the University’s Hillman Library.

Most Pittsburghers are extremely fond and respectful of our police force. We were glad that they were there to protect the locals from these hooligans.
I learned all I needed to know about the honesty and intelligence of this crowd while watching Hannity interview a couple of them last night.

The stuff they used in the gas chamber at MCRD , now that was some "tear gas". You could hardly get out "From the Halls of Montezuma ", before you were choking, your eyes ran like a faucet and you had copious amounts of snot running out your nose.
The students were not on the street. They were looking down from the balcony at the scene unfolding.
Dumb and unassuming it’s doubtful any had ever been anywhere near the violence of the anarchists.
Not something they will soon forget and for sure their innocence will be gone when they think back on the experience.
Clearly these students were taught that the police are their friends.

First, I see no tear gas in the dorm....they claimed they shot a large number of cannisters lol. Negative. It appears to be residual tear gas from 2 stories down on the street.
I see no students gettng roughed up on the video,,,probably they either chased some wannabe anarchists into the building or the PD got some crap tossed at them from there.
