They actually led with the story the day before it’s release. I saw it.
The best pastrami sandwich in town used to be in the storefront deli of Mt. Sinaii Kosher Corp. at 39th & Morgan, across from the "yards".
Oh yeah, know Sinaii Kosher well. It was pretty close to our house (by car) and we'd go there on occasion for Beef and Kosher 'dogs'. IIRC, coming from the West, it at the bottom of 'the hill' (RR Track & street Overpass) on the North side of the street.
(I just put my new Desk Chair together and have to get used to it. Even at 'low' it's a little higher than my old one. Typing is a bit strange now)
No doubt about that!!
Hell, I don't even live there....and I can imagine what has gone on there..and still goes on there.
I don't take kindly to being hood-winked, screwed, swindled, lied to, taxed to the extreme, treated like a dumb-ass, etc...etc......
I'm sick of it.
MOLON LABE
They did not have to obey this fascist order and they should not have obeyed. They should have responded by stepping up their anti reports.
I don’t understand why people don’t want the Olympics in this country. It will have been twenty years since the Atlanta Summer Olympics. We’re due. Also, Americans typically perform better when the Olympics are on American soil. Who says Chicago can’t model themselves after the ‘84 Olympics on Los Angeles, which turned a significant profit.
They threatened Humana for telling the truth to Seniros about Medicare and now they are shutting down news. Unreal.
Because it is a big money loser and a giant hole in which to throw tax dollars. Are you willing to pick up the tab on a loser Olympics with your tax dollars? Are you ok with an Olympic bailout?
Honestly, since the cold war ended does anyone really give a crap about the Olympics? I know I don't.
“I dont understand why people dont want the Olympics in this country.”
....I think it’s a product of the times....in today’s economy the idea of a huge capital outlay at public expense is pretty scary...and BTW, you’re right, the ‘84 Olympics was a terrific financial success....Peter Ueberroth was a genius at putting on a global sports event....unfortunately, I don’t see that happening in Chicago...there, I expect it will be all graft and corruption....just my 2 cents
I have very mix feelings about all this. One minute I am for it, the next against. I do wish Rio well, but it has no chance. There are different reports out there. One says Chicago, others say Rio. Even one says Toyko.
I think Atlanta in 96 was also sucessful, the product of the new south.
GOOD! Let’s all pray for Brazil...
