Well, there were McCain “birthers” until Congressional hearings were held to determine whether or not he could prove he was a natural born citizen. Could be that's why no one is asking now that the proof has been before a Congressional committee that was hoping to rule him out of the running.

Not really, the Senate merely voted a sense of the Senate that McCain was indeed a natural born citizen, they had for a while I think included Obama in the same resolution.

In any case a Sense of the Senate resolution has absolutely no effect of law.
