"A team of researchers from the US, Denmark and New Zealand have discovered a process through which a prevalent biogenic nonmethane hydrocarbon compound emitted by treesisopreneforms atmospheric particulate matter (i.e., secondary organic aerosol). The results are published in the 7 August issue of the journal Science.
Aerosols impact human health, due to their ability to penetrate deep into lungs, and impact Earths climate through the scattering and absorption of solar radiation and through serving as the nuclei on which clouds form, noted co-author Prof. John Seinfeld from Caltech. So it is important to know where particles come from.
Emissions of nonmethane hydrocarbon compounds to the atmosphere from the biosphere exceed those from anthropogenic activity. Isoprene, a five-carbon diene formed naturally in plants and animals and a precursor of ozone, contributes more than 40% of these emissions. Isoprene is emitted by many deciduous trees, with oaks playing the biggest role. Global isoprene emissions from plants are estimated at more than 500 teragrams each year."

In the early 90’s I was involved in a industrial site clean-up in Messina, NY, the Owner wanted a site study done to identify any potential environmental problems. The study came back pointing out that the VOC (volatile organic compounds) releases would exceed EPA planned limits, the Owner wanted to know how these releases could be eliminated, and demanded by the local Envirocrazies and Chicken Littles, the answer was cut down the trees on the property, they were the source, because it was an “industrial site” the source did not matter. A meeting with the NY State DEP ended the nonsense.

Yeah, they said we were causing Global Warming by decimating the tropical rain forests!!
They just change tactics as necessary.
Before we had Global Warming, we had Global Cooling. They’ll never stop trying to control everything we do...or say.
Oh, yeah! What about all the lumber industry shutdowns for the owls? Guess the owls won’t matter any more.

It looks like another multi-million dollar report that says..OMG WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE. Its a great way to make a living off taxpayer money...
But before we cut down all the tree's, we have to shoot all the tree huggers that are holding on......
