The Destruction of ACORN, the Strategy of Breitbart & Why We Must All Remain Vigilant [Bill Whittle]
Afterburner at PJTV ^ | September 27 2009 | Bill Whittle

Posted on 09/30/2009 6:33:10 AM PDT by Tolik

In his latest video Bill Whittle compares the destruction of ACORN with one of the most brilliant military victories of all times: Hannibal's decimation of Romans in the Battle of Cannae.

Whittle says that the main war is not with ACORN but with the media. The Media is no longer "news media", because, as it was highlighted, again, in the ACORN affair, is not just biased and selective, but now engaged in suppressing the news. It's not free media anymore.

As Hannibal learned that fighting all powerful Rome is dangerous, Breitbart should also be worry - he'd drawn blood of the Rome! And should continue attack and keep moving, to not repeat the Hannibal's fate.

My short summary in no way reflects the customarily witty presentation by Bill Whittle. Watch the video yourself.

Obama won the last election not in the least because the “news” media...........was mostly an amplifier for his election propaganda.

Ohaha won b/c of his calculated campaign MO: He ran as Ronald Reagan----prodded by the evil machinations of Rahm (Uriah Heep) Emanuel.

When Ohaha got in, his alter ego---Mao Tse Tung--- emerged. "Uriah Heep" became COS.

We need to remember the paradigms of news-gathering/dispensing are changing as we type.

I-net power is being harnessed by sites like this. It cannot be stopped.

I watched the Video. Bill Whittle's commentary on Hannibal & the Battle of Cannae (216 BC) made me think of another famous military leader, Sun Tzu (circa 500 BC). Every move, tactic and the strategy employed by Hannibal was right out of his book 'The Art of War'.

Now I doubt that Hannibal read The Art of War, or even heard of Sun Tzu. I'm just saying Hannibal wasn't the first to use those tactics to defeat a superior force. And IMO Breitbart is also following the tactics of Sun Tzu. And especially Sun Tzu's most famous quote and principle...

"If you know the enemy and know yourself you need not fear the results of a hundred battles."

And Andrew Breitbart knows the enemy. That's already been proved. So if he keeps following Sun Tzu, ACORN (and Rome /s) is doomed.

Bill Whittle is my new hero. Everyone in this country should see this video. Nothing I have seen to date expresses my own views as well.

We need to figure out a way to help significantly raise Whittle’s profile in my opinion.

Oh, bishbosh. Breitbart has NOTHING to worry about. .. Breitbart's got ... the all-encompassing, global power of the internet.
Yep. And IMO, Andrew Breitbart is following the tactics of Sun Tzu and his book 'The Art of War', more than Hannibal (Sun Tzu lived +250 years before Hannibal, 500 BC). And like you say, Breitbart has the Internet, which as a form of communication, is also addressed by Sun Tzu.

Many Conservative news junkies (and FReepers) keep screaming (hand wringing, worrying?) about 'Alinsky's: Rules For Radicals'. To that I say *** 'bishbosh' :-) ***, Sun Tzu has that covered...

"If you know the enemy and know yourself you need not fear the results of a hundred battles."
Well we KNOW the enemy and so does Andrew Breitbart. If we just keep to it ACORN, its enablers in the media, and Alinsky followers (Barry and Hillary) on the left are DOOMED to defeat.

I think every conservative should get 'The Art of War'. As 'War' is not fought just on a Battlefield. the book can be bought for as little as $9.00 and is even available on the NET to read free. I find that a pain though, so I have a hard 'Deluxe' copy. (B&N Classic Series)

” Breitbart’s got something Hannibal never dreamed off-———the encompassing, global power of the internet.

It is ACORN and its backers—all of “Rome” itself—that should be running for the hills.

Mmm, mm, mmm.......imagine all those digital “elephants” stampeding toward ACORN. LOL.”

There's cracks in the wall - not enough to bring it down - but enough to know it WILL COME DOWN soon. Some reporters are thinking of jumping - going with the truth over old entrenched liberal editors... The Washington Post might be first...

[ He’s as sharp as Coulter, but without the snark. ]

I prefer Snark.. It can bring humor into a nasty situation...
I also like snorts, guffaws and horse laughs..

Ann Coulter can make the treason and sedition of the thing(s) laughable..
Saves me reaching for my gun.. which is probably a good thing..
Eventually somebody is gonna get hurt, I suspect..
The amusment factor will wear off..

Jon Stewart Mocks Media on ACORN Story: ‘Where the Hell Were You?’

Delicious.

Video and transcript are at the link above.

... You're telling me that two kids from the cast of "High School Musical III" can break this story with a video camera and their grandmother's chinchilla coat? And you got nothing? They did it for $3,000, and that's Blitzer's monthly beard Wetvac budget. It probably cost CNN that much to turn on their hologram machine.

I'm a fake journalist, and I'm embarrassed these guys scooped me. Let's get to work people.

Now I doubt that Hannibal read The Art of War, or even heard of Sun Tzu.

Hannibal could have written his own book on war. He spanked the Romans black-and-blue every time they met on the field. Very likely, if Carthage had had a reliable naval supply line to him in Italy, he could have made the entire Roman federation break up and join him — that is what he was aiming for.

Instead, Rome's allies, knowing that he couldn't cover every place in Italy, and couldn't stay there forever, put two and two together and opted to try to keep Rome happy meanwhile.

Eventually a new generation of Roman leaders arose who had studied Hannibal's methods, and were able to use them against him.

Undoubtedly Hannibal was a great military leader. And for sure he was a thorn in Rome's side for a very long time. But I was just focused on Bill Whittle's video commentary. If he hadn't named 'Hannibal', he could have been reciting from Sun Tzu's, 'The Art of War'.

And the one part he mentioned - about Hannibal funneling Rome's 'overwhelming' Legions into a small gap - reminded me of Thermopylae (480 BC) with King Leonidas and his 300 Spartans (1), against Xerxes and his 'overwhelming' Persian forces.

Looking at the ways Hannibal used his knowledge of the Romans and of his own forces at Cannae, you can see where Whittle is taking this.

This is not a polite drawing-room chitchat here — in the words of the Serpent, "This is WAAAH!!" At least, they think it is. Well, so be it.

Their strategy depends critically on total control of the debate. They must control the flow of information, the flow of the cultural conversation, and even the very terms we all must use. Just like Hannibal, who could hold his position in Italy, but could not build upon it before the Romans outflanked him and landed in Africa, the liberals can hold the institutions that they have swallowed up, but they can't stop the flankers now coming in from all sides.

At some point, Hannibal is gunna get recalled to defend Carthage. He can't stay away from Zama forever.

Liberals have Jon Stewart on their side every day. It must be nice to be part of the "in" group - well, if they weren't so thuggy and criminal. But they're protected from that knowledge... just a few seconds on a comedy show - and all of us are so thrilled. Liberals get this treatment every show... every newspaper, every magazine. Have no doubt, we are metaphorically " the Jews"...
