After reading the article I took it as derision...sorta. He outed Obama as someone who just isn’t fit for the job.
One thing I did learn is that Gore Vidal is a sodomite. That was news to me, & never had an inkling about it.
Hopefully so. The democrat party is nothing but an absolute threat to America's National Security.

Gore Vidal is a honest liberal. He expresses the way that liberals think but are too afraid to speak it in public. Liberals have contempt for the American people. They see the American people as ignorant buffoons. Of course, the libs see themselves as intellectual elites, the enlightened ones. Obama’s problem, according to Vidal, is that Obama is too intellectual for the American people. If Obama is an intellectual, then the intellectual class is hurting big time. Obama is dumber than a brick. He can’t even deliver a speech without a teleprompter. Unless someone tells him what to say, he just repeats vapid cliches and slogans. He speaks, but says nothing. Is this what passes for intellect? Vidal destroyed the homosexual argument for marriage. His one statement about homosexuality was devastating. He spoke the truth. I don’t admire Vidal. He is a pompous jerk; however, he is not stupid. He has the guts or stupidity to speak his mind.
Vidal says that he hates labels and has said he believes in homosexual acts rather than homosexual people. He claims his relationship with Austen was platonic (though they reputedly met at a legendary New York bath-house). He was once quoted as saying that he’d had sex with a 1,000 men by the time he was 25.
And he has the battered sphincter to prove it. Gore is the definition of "bitter old queen."
You can see Vidal’s senility and how he reaches a false conclusion (about “dictatorship”) when he says that America was “corrupted” under Bush.... but he doesn’t mention Clinton?
Or the entire corrupt Socialist edifice of the Democrat Party?
America has *always* been in a state of “falling apart”, and as a quasi-historian Vidal is disingenuous not to mention that.

The first 1/3rd had some very predictable snarky “Vidalisms.”

To be effective, armed opposition requires violence, and nowadays Americans are just too squeamish.
