Makes me think of several passages...
1 Timothy 4:1 But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons,
4:2 by means of the hypocrisy of liars seared in their own conscience as with a branding iron,
4:3 men who forbid marriage and advocate abstaining from foods, which God has created to be gratefully shared in by those who believe and know the truth.
1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,
Romans 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,
2 Timothy 2:25 with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth,
Psalms 119:160 The sum of Thy word is truth, And every one of Thy righteous ordinances is everlasting.
The truth is in the Word of God and available to everyone to read. Many times on FR, it seems to be analagous to a Shiite and a Sunni arguing over which one of them is following the correct religious path.
The quotes are selective.
How about the instruction to Peter: “Feeds My Lambs, Feed My Sheep”; “Thou Art Peter and Upon This Rock I Will Found My Church”; “Whatever You Bind On Earth Will Be Bound In Heaven and Whatever You Looseth On Earth, Will Be Loosened In Heaven”?
No institution on this planet has undergone the vigor of historical and intellectual inquiry as the Catholic Church for its validity as the “One, True, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church”
You cannot have (at last check) some over 20, 000 Christian denominations purporting to speak “The Truth”
I think, it would help if those who argue against the Church would first take the time to do some serious reading on the matter.
