A photograph of the Iranian president holding up his identity card during elections in March 2008 clearly shows his family has Jewish roots.
A close-up of the document reveals he was previously known as Sabourjian – a Jewish name meaning cloth weaver.
The short note scrawled on the card suggests his family changed its name to Ahmadinejad when they converted to embrace Islam after his birth. "Every family that converts into a different religion takes a new identity by condemning their old faith.
"By making anti-Israeli statements he is trying to shed any suspicions about his Jewish connections. He feels vulnerable in a radical Shia society."

So he really does have something in common with Hitler.
Of course it was said/suspected that Hitler had Jewish roots too. That was said to be the reason his home town in Austria was essentially disappeared. So that does not bode well for this nut having any softer a spot for the Jews than the prior nut.

The subject has been brought up before. The name is not neccessairily Jewish, but refers to the profession of cloth weaver or thread dyer (since some sources claim his name was Sabghian, not Sabourjian). He certainly doesn’t look particularily Persian to me, so some minority background could be likely. But the name alone is not conclusive proof of being a Jew. However it would be a delicious irony and the worst case of a self-hating Jew since Noam Chomsky.

Yes, exactly. And what is funny is that none of the photos you posted were phtoshopped. They are actual photos of him just going about his daily jew activities and jew lifestyle, being himself, a jew, which has already been confirmed.
Hmmm. Didn't know that. That would prove his Jewish background. However I can't read what actually is written on his passport. I have read otherplace that his name was Sabaghian.

Converts from Judaism or Christianity are welcomed with open arms, just as Jewish converts to Catholicism were welcomed into Christian society during medieval times.
IOW, neither he nor his fellow religionists would consider him a Jew due to his (possible) Jewish ancestry.
