Exactly. This is a last attempt. If nothing is done, some of those scientists will not be long for this world. They did the same thing in 81. People know about bombing the reactor, but most don’t know that a handful of key scientists were also killed as part of the process.

I don’ know why they’d warn Putin, though. Now they will all be tipped off. Unless they’re 100% confident in the surveillance abilities.

This is a signal that they will militarily attack the installations, then go after the knowledge which *would* have been needed to re-build them.
