Funny you should present this argument.

Cause myself has been doing the same thing.

Come on gang, the Dems got to be having serious gas over this guy. add to it the humiliation of having to defend him day after day.

Of course Pelosi, Schumer...various others in rock solid safe districts are beating the drum... But you got to know the Dems are starting to see the handwriting on the wall and they know that Obamer’s going to bring them down. Many of them were alive during the Carter era and this fine fine president took the Dem party down for what? Over 12 years as I recall.

I often think that if Obamer is ever going to go down it ain’t gonna be because of us on the right laughing at him, MTP liberals notwithstanding. Obamer will go down when the Dems finally have enough and THEY go and tell him he’s got to start walking a line they will construct or he’ll have to resign.

Saying here, MNJ...that I agree with you completely.

40% of doctors do not accept Medicaid patients

Like I said: "a few bad experiences with paid Medicaid" and they'll likely gravitate to the far superior private health insurance.

Michelle waxed on about sitting on her Dad’s lap as Carl Lewis competed in the olympics.

Of course Michelle would have been 21 at the time and odd age to be sitting on Daddy’s lap, especially since the poor guy had Multiple Sclerosis.

I agree about Russert. He could do smug better than anyone. It’s kind of like the Clinton’s. Russert may seem better in retrospect because Gregory is so loathsome, just like we get nostalgic for the Clinton’s because the Obama’s are just sooooo much worse than anyone you can think of.

From Michael Goodwin in today's NY Post:

"IF you still doubt President Obama is trying to do too many things and is giving short shrift to the most important ones, consider this pathetic scene at the Copenhagen airport. It was Friday, and the president went to Denmark to make his pitch for the Chicago Olympics.

Before Air Force One took off for home, Obama met with Gen. Stanley McChrystal. Our commander in Afghanistan was summoned from London and got 25 minutes of face time with the commander-in-chief.

That's it -- 25 minutes on the plane for the man Obama picked to lead 68,000 troops and rescue a war he calls one of "necessity." Compare that to the 14 hours or so Obama wasted flying and speaking about the Olympics, and you get a snapshot of a president off course.

Not incidentally, that was the same day the unemployment rate climbed to 9.8 percent, the highest since 1983, as employers shed 283,000 more jobs in September.

Barack Obama, phone home. (cont.)"

President is AWOL as our commander

Why do these people keep pretending that inspections by the IAEA are worth a warm bucket of spit?

As a cover for doing nothing. Susan Rice is the same person, as an under-secretary for Albright, who torpedoed the Sudan's offer to render up bin Laden to the US.

Incidentally, the Weekly Standard was reporting a rumor picked up from the White House that Bill Gates would be out by the end of the year, to be replaced by - wait for it - Chuck Hagel (who has always carried water for Iran and has a hate-on for Israel). Bill Kristol commented that this was a "very disturbing" development.

mmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmmmmmm

My husband kept saying that any song that has "mmm mmmmm mmmm" as part of the lyrics is the sign of a piss poor song writer.

Thus I smile as so many parodys of Obamer now include those fine, fine lyrics and in fact, smirk, it's become part of the pop culture lexicon as indicator of Obamer mockery that husband says he's come to enjoy those lyrics.

Heh.

Across the board, permanent taxes cuts accompanied by cuts in spending are the only rational way out of this.

Great~ You have your perfect plan. Now go get it passed thru the Congress and signed into law.

Of course you will not even get enough votes to overcome the Leftist filibuster in the Senate, but hey, at least your plan is ideologically pure!

But for the sake of fun, pretend you get it passed.

Meanwhile, what are we suppose to do for the next 1.5 years waiting for your tax cuts to go into effect?/

Just cutting tax rates doesn't work immediately because you pay taxes on LAST year's income.

So where is your plan for some short term economic growth?

Foreigners hold about half of the $7.5 trillion publicly held debt with another $4.5 trillion being held in Intragovernmental Holdings, i.e., the various trust funds that cover SS, Medicare, federal pensions, etc. All of them require us to pay debt servicing costs, which is like throwing money out the window.

The HI Trust fund (Part A) started cashing in its non-market T-bills in 2008 and will exhaust them in 2017. SS is also now in the red, i.e., paying out more than it is taking in, and will be so for the next two years. It will go into the black after that until 2016 and then go into the red permaently until 2037 when its trust funds are exhausted. What this means is that the General Fund must come up with the money to pay the difference. I suspect that will entail more borrowing because it is doubtful we can cut spending to any meaningful degree. The entitlement programs will bankrupt us unless they are changed significantly. And the sh*t will hit the fan within a decade.

If you want some scary reading, take a look at this: A SUMMARY OF THE 2009 ANNUAL REPORTS Social Security and Medicare Boards of Trustees. We are headed for a huge fiscal train wreck, which is why the politicians of both parties are frantically seeking healthcare reform, which will entail cuts in Medicare and higher taxes. This country is broke.

STATE OF THE UNION (CNN):

The Military has to privately use the chain of command, while for all the Bush years Democrats, Geraldo, and the New York Times made Military secrets public?

Interesting question regarding who has enough leverage to force Obama to go on a suicide mission? Rush would say Daley, who has the directions to the cemetery. And a map.

The Obamas are a particularly clueless couple. Either that or they don’t care. Maybe he actually believed that he could change things by showing up, or maybe he had no idea about the Olympic Committee’s sentiment.

This is a small thing, but the way Michelle dresses strikes me as an ‘in your face’ gesture. She has to know she’s widely criticized and almost a laughingstock for her outfits, yet she continues to trot out more and more outrageous looks.

I can’t figure out whether they don’t know or don’t care.

You must have been reading my mind Miss Didi!

I was just thinking about what tremendous PR The Joker has gotten from 25 minutes on a plane with Gen. McChrystal after ignoring him and the war for months.

This is one thing we need to learn from the Dems, the art of getting more out of less in the PR wars..
