Their was an Admiral Moorer in the book. He was on the same ship as Woodward I believe - even though they both deny it. And Moorer was involved in some shady dealings with trying to hurt someone's influence (Kissinger or someone?) I forget exactly, but I recall a quote of his from that era (mid 70’s) when he was accused of doing something wrong he said something like “It is inconceivable...preposterous that I would be involved.....”
I use a clipping from a magazine article from the 90’s (or so I think) where Moorer was accused of dealing in illegal arms deals. Aircraft or tanks or something, under the guise of museum pieces. When accused, he stated in the magazine article the the exact same words quoted in the book! (”It is inconceivable...preposterous that I would be involved.....”)
Only a person of integrity has the right to say this.
Admiral Moore was trading on the good reputation of military men, that we would impugn the reputation of the military if we questioned him.
I believe we are now seeing overtly what has been going on covertly in this country for some 70-80 years.
It is good for it to be exposed, but the response to it may be terrifying, if it is made necessary.
