Well, under Bush we marched up this hill at least three times then marched back down again. We moved huge assets into position and made some ominous denials then it all just leaked away. Three times.

We’ve done all this stuff enough times before during the Bush administration that we have the benefit of ambiguity when/if we do it again and we have a determined wienie in the WH. The Iranians might just not believe us, and we might just not do anything useful, anyway.

If he gives the order I suspect he will not allow interdiction of the Iranin effort to mine the Strait of Hormuz. That way he gets the final crisis of American Capitalism as oil goes above $500 and most of that money has to go to Russia.
