If people still think they can continue spending money they don't have, I don't see how we can say we have made any progress. I think we are going to have to split the country up in two.

I can understand people wanting to spend some money when things are good. But in our current economic condition, we should be managing our resources better. A lot of the bond issues are window-dressing stuff that we can do without. Unfortunately, a lot of people, especially libs in Nob Hill, still think we can spend ourselves out of any problems.
