Really, it has to do with the “evolutionary” mindset,
with the assumptions that we’re (or some of us, the “elites”) getting better, smarter, more moral/ethical, than anyone in the past,

and therefore have the ability, the right, and the DUTY to make decisions for others.

Again I agree, and so does Thomas Sowell in his recent "Random Thoughts..."
