To: Gator113

I was stationed there for 2 years on an old Coast Guard cutter. First out at the end of the hook and then right downtown when they finished building the new pier in 1979. I really liked the area and I did a good amount of backpacking in the Olympics.

It’s sure a small world. There are more folks living here than back then, but it’s still just as beautiful. I can see the end of the hook from my house on top of Mount Pleasant. I have been here since 1973.

I play on that water, so I love the Coast Guard. Before I retired, one of the many hat’s I wore was that of SAR Coordinator, so I worked very closely with the CG, especially the air support. In the 4 years I had that responsibility, I found every one of you hikers. LOL
