Yesterday, the Federal Trade Commission issued an 81 page document entitled Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising requiring bloggers who write testimonials about products to disclose gifts or payments they receive. So if a company sends you a dollar-store toy, you will be scrutinized by the government, regardless whether you were asked to post a review or not. Whether it be free review copies of books, trips to oil rigs, payments, t-shirts, whatever it is, you better disclose it, to Uncle Sam, or, as the Washington Post reports, youll be fined up to $11,000 in fines...

Please help us get important information like this out, so we can unite to oppose governmental controlling policies like this!
Thanks!!
Does that mean people will be “spied on” for posting reviews on Amazon? or anywhere else for that matter?
Busy-bodies.
This is the kind of sh!t that Hitler and Stalin pushed on their civilian populations, and Kim Jung Il does to this day.
Consistent, continuous monitoring of even the tiniest details of civilian life is an act of totalitarianism practiced by communists, national socialists and evidently the democrat party.
Pigs, all.
A friend of mine thinks this is a way to get political dissenters silenced, and I wouldn’t doubt it. If you go to here:

you’ll see something ‘questionable’:
4. Three guides for safe social media outreach — these will keep you safe:
* Require disclosure and truthfulness in social media outreach.
* Monitor the conversation and correct misstatements.
* Create social media policies and training programs.
What the heck is the third one there? That sounds to me like we’re all being railroaded into the ‘Hitler’ culture. Scary, if you ask me. And why are US Citizens being singled out? People in other countries can do as they please on blogs, etc...but we can’t?
Our freedom is slowly slipping through our fingers, and no one knows how to stop it.
Agreed. So how do we stop it?
This is why using Tor for browsing/posting is a good idea, regardless if you have a blog or not. Course, Tor wont help if the Feds can just shut down the site.
When we said “free speech”, we didn’t mean for you. :)

Maybe truth in advertising, enforced by the justice department would not be an all bad idea.
They could start with:
Obummer, the Marxist posing as a Fascist, speeches.
Charlie Rangle’s answers to questions about his finances.
Obummer, the Marxist now posing as a Fascist, discussing health care.
Obummer, the Marxist now posing as a Fascist, regarding his statements about “Dreams of my Father”.
Bernake’s statements reporting on the economy.
Paulson’s statements regarding Goldman Sachs and Bank of America/Merrill Lynch.
Axelrod on everything.
A long long list so I will stop here.
When they get all of that cleaned up, maybe they will have some credibility.
