More FReepers might pay attention to it if they dropped their Ron Paul/Lew Rockwell-line opposition to moslem/Communist terrorists. But it's the John Birch Society's magazine so that ain't gonna happen.
I think it's safe to say that TNA, Rep. Paul, & Lew Rockwell have no problem w/ defending our nation against "Moslem/Communist terrorists"...the question is how to go about it.
Anyone who understands the Constitution can figure out that national defense is one of the prime, if not the #1, priorities of the federal government. TNA & these 2 men believe that our military is for DEFENSE & that we should have a foreign policy similar to what the Founding Fathers had (wasn't it Jefferson who said, "Peace, commerce and honest friendship with all nations; entangling alliances with none"?).
Om the other hand, the Neocon leadership of the GOP (& yes, the Dim Party, too; especially CFR member Joe Lieberman) believe that the world is ours & we should have free reign to "make the world safe for democracy"...which I think was a quote from Karl Marx. They believe that it is our job to stamp out tyranny around the globe when it suits their interests.
I will take the word of the Founding Fathers over those of Lieberman, Bush, & Clinton ANY DAY: the US should mind its own business in foreign affairs & not draw the ire of Islamic nutcases in the 1st place....& when we are attacked, destroy the enemy, take no prisoners, & do it QUICKLY.
