Prosecutors say a gun battle between gangs fighting for control of an area near Mexico's border with Guatemala has left seven people dead.
Two women are hospitalized with injuries suffered in the attack in a rural part of Chiapas state. The women apparently belonged to one of the gangs.
Chiapas' Attorney General's Office said Tuesday that gunmen dressed in black attacked rivals in an area where the Zetas drug gang is active.
