The joke about this Nobel Award was Obama was in office 2 weeks before the deadline of 1 Feb 2009 for nominations.

Did Obama really accomplish so much in his first 2 weeks as President to deserve a Nobel?

Of course not, Nobels have lost their significance once Al Gore and Jimmy Carter received them.
