The Peace Prize is awarded by the Norwegian parliament, and one has to wonder about the institutional hatred of Jews there when considering their awards to people like Carter, Arafat, and now Obama.

I wonder the same thing about Mr. Rhodes (as in Rhodes scholarship). The trustees of the scholarship have distorted the man’s instructions for the trust beyond recognition. The same can probably be said of the Ford Foundation. It must really suck to create a foundation or trust with your lifes work and see it subverted by people you would never had hired much less tolerated. Got to love lawyers, they can read anything they want into a contract.

Yes, it’s only fitting to give a peace prize to a man who has done more for job loss than any other. sarc/ off

Carter some 20 years later for his Habitat for Humanity more-so. Peace is a "catchy masthead title". Carter talked the talk but most would not go as far as saying he brought Peace. Hell, Henry Kissinger is a Laureate and he is known for war. Then you have also Mother Teresa or the nun that was looked over for saving all those children when Gore received the award.

I comes down to "the chosen" taking on a "moral and spiritual challenge". Gore's just happen to be about "weather/climate change".

In Illinois EX-Governor, George H. Ryan was placed up for the Nobel Peace Prize. Before the Governor left office he granted "clemency to those on death row" and became the toast of death penalty opponents. I always suspected he would wind up in prison himself...guess what he finally got 6.5 years. Many had known way before that it was only time, others surrounding him had already seen the inside of a prison cell. But, hey, it was Illinois/Chicago politics!

This is the Nobel site.

Laughs, Yes I believe he did.

More for our troops are dying in Afganistan during this "indecisive" time. He should have been asked that!

No. He was nominated two weeks after he took office. That was the cut-off date for the nominations.

Does the Nobel P-P Committee recognize Affirmative Action? I mean, really, what had Barak Obama really done? He has been in office for 9 months, and was likely selected several months ago, so even worse.

They must have picked him based on one of his nifty speeches!

“...10 FRIGGIN DAYS and he gets this and some are trying to say this is not a joke....”

Sort of like his Senate “career”. In there about a 150 DAYS, give or take, and NOW THIS! In the Oval Office 10 friggin days and NOW THIS! The NPP is now, officially a JOKE. It has zer0 credibility. Look who’s “won” it lately. A who’s who of leftist, terrorists, and traitors. No legitimacy what so ever.

Yep. What did Obama do to achieve peace? The Nobel Committee is beyond embarrassment.

The Nobel Peace Prize jumped the shark long ago. This merely provides additional evidence of its pointlessness.
