The Berkeley school board is considering creating an alternative high school or charter school proposed by one of its high school principals for 500 kids who are falling behind.
Victor Diaz, principal of Berkeley Technology Academy, said the school would serve kids from grades six through 12 who traditionally fall behind: students of color scoring well below their white counterparts.

I’m just wondering what a Berkeley “alternative” school could even be like.

WHAT! A liberal government run program that is failing it's main constituency.
When are Black Americans going to wake up and see that for over 40 years these rats have been promising everything and giving you nothing but heartache and misery. The most sickening of it all is the Black men and women in government who are sleeping in the same bed with them and “feeding on thier own. Ther is a better way, see what conservatism can offer you and your family.

Oh goodie! They can all fall behind together. But, how would you know?
They had these years ago and called them “Reform Schools” They worked then they will work now.
Of course somehow I doubt Berkeley is smart enough to run them properly.
