Chicago Tour Bus Used To Move Pot, Cash Nationwide

CHICAGO (AP) - The purple tour bus rumbled toward Arizona. On board were 15 passengers, all promised $1,000 and a hotel stay. Stuffed into the luggage compartments, in four black duffel bags, was $1.4 million.
Trailing the bus were Wisconsin Department of Justice agents, heading straight into a case that reads like a crime novel.
A Detroit drug lord named Adarus Mazio Black was using the tour bus to smuggle his cash and dope across the country and was so afraid of getting caught he had his face rebuilt and his fingerprints erased.

Prosecutors believe Black's ring summoned the two bus drivers to Detroit a month later. A man walked up to them as they sat in their car and shot them repeatedly as they tried to honk for help. Alleged hit man Vincent Smothers is awaiting trial in the two deaths. Police say he's confessed in stark detail to killing the drivers and six other people. He has pleaded not guilty to all eight killings.
Gray said Black's ring was looking for Washington, too, before Washington surrendered to agents. His attorney, Thomas Erickson, said Washington owned the bus company for 15 years and wasn't directly involved with Black, but declined further comment.
Federal drug agents already were investigating Black in the deaths of two rival drug dealers in Detroit. After the bus busts, Black headed south. According to court documents, he visited a plastic surgeon in Nogales, Mexico, where he had nine surgeries, altering his hairline and nose and transplanting skin from his toes to hide his fingerprints.

That new prison in Montana is made for people like this. That is unless they are going to fill it with ACORN people. Detroit and Chicago need to do a clean sweep and throw out the ones they don’t want.
Some of these drug runners have got to be the stupidest people. How hard can it be to move small packages from one place to another within the United States without getting caught?
I think the inner city culture finds travelling to be such an alien idea that they way over complicate it.

It’s great the man was convicted but the allegations being part of the judge’s sentencing considerations is bothersome.

Remember when walmart expanded to just about every county in the nation, like wise Tyson foods? I thought then walmart or any of their employs were required to know anything about it, what a way to move drugs to about every county in the nation, and hilary sat on the board of walmart at one time in the 80’s and was active in arkansas, Tyson too.

When I owned my package delivery company I contracted out to a company and one of the ‘projects’ I had was to run from DC to Philadelphia and sometimes NYC 5 nights a week.
Boxes of paperwork etc were picked up from different offices etc and driven north.
It would be a round trip as the NY/Philly offices would ship stuff South...
I often joked that if I ever found out the Company was ‘smuggling’ something I would have to turn their office into a “post office” as I was taking ALL the risk etc and getting a stinking few hundred per night etc....
In reality, how hard would it have been for someone to get a job in one of the offices and they could have virtually shipped anything as the boxes were never opened...all it would take would be to make sure the contact was working on the other end...
I like the free trip and tour bus angle..they could play that with no one actually catching on...
Think the main trouble is they are all so paranoid that stupidity reigns....Why would one smuggle crap up the coast using ‘young dudes in hot sports cars’, no luggage and a heavy foot? You are just asking to get stopped...
Get a reasonable clunker, ‘rent a family’ and go to Disneyland. Obey the speed limit, use turn signals and act like you have some sense and you would NEVER get caught...
