BAGHDAD – He told his family he was going on a pilgrimage to Mecca.

Instead, the second-year college student packed a vinyl travel bag and left home in Saudi Arabia for a trip that would take him on a smuggling route across the Syrian border and into the heart of the Sunni insurgency in Iraq.

So began the underground life of safe houses, aliases and hit-and-run attacks of another Islamic foot soldier recruited to battle the U.S. military and its Iraqi allies.

worth a read imo.

Where do they come from? Why do they fight? Why should we care?

This guy was planting IEDs and killing our troops, he doesn't know how many he killed.

He got caught. When and if he gets out, and he will.. he says he will fight again.

The solution to Gitmo and all the legal hassles caused by detainees is: no more detainees (i.e., take no priosoners.) End of story.

That won’t work, we need to deal with these types on an emotional level. Try to talk nice to them, even offer to be their bestest friend in the whole-wide world if they promise not to kill anymore.

If that doesn’t work, midnight basketball games always work too. /s

Last count was well over 100 Gitmo terrorists had re-entered into terror activities.

Some were killed on the second round but they are hardly reformed. There’s not enough women for all the unemployed and underemployed men in Arab countries.

Since they can’t make a deal in their tribal arranged marriages, those dozens of virgins sound like the next best deal after they get killed.

I'd bet this would make this POS happy.

Michael Moore (quote), from his website, April 14, 2004...

"The Iraqis who have risen up against the occupation are not 'insurgents' or 'terrorists' or 'The Enemy.' They are the REVOLUTION, the Minutemen, and their numbers will grow -- and they will win. Get it, Mr. Bush?"
