I *never* abandoned the GOP. It abandoned me when its leadership reneged on its promises, values, and principles.

No kidding. Last year the day before the RNC, the GOP laid out a decent platform then proceded to nominate a man who opposes pretty much all of it.

McCain IS the GOP power structure, cc. He is embedded into it in a leadership role and has been there many years before most of America even knew his name.

McCain has been Chairman of the International Republican Institute since 1993. It's a group whose name sounds benign, but they are anything but benign. Between the IRI and their Democrat counterpart, the NDI chaired by Madeline Albright, they ARE US foreign policy. They overthrow governments, stir the pot and do much of the work the CIA used to do until the American people rejected that kind of behavior.

Getting the GOP to ignore or pass over John McCain is like trying to "ignore" the bolder that stretches across the entire road. Not going to happen, ever!
