Not the ones I worked with. At the point we engaged Hospice care any further 'medical' care was absolutely futile. All those doctors would have done was prolong agony.
The timing of death is God’s domain, not ours.
And yet you want Doctors to do all they can to artificially prolong life. Remind me again who is screwing with God's domain?
My elderly uncle who died at home but under hospice care after losing his battle with lung cancer would very much disagree were he still here to argue the point. He received excellent palliative care after he refused further medical treatment for his cancer.
Concentration camp inmates had better treatment than this.

But if you get anywhere near Blue America [which is going to include about 99% of all major medical centers], then you will indeed be looking at "Kim Jong Il? Hitler? Stalin? Jeffrey Dahmer? Charles Manson?" working in Hospice.
I have witnessed it with my own eyes.

To be clear. I think Hospice is wonderful for those with terminal illness who consent and know what it is.
But I have personally seen older people, placed in Hopice without consent by people with powers of medical attorney who have died, not well and without immediatly terminal illness. The requirement for Hospice is that you have six months or less of expected life. THat covers alot of people who are older and sometimes they die needlessly.
Just my opinion. But I have seen it.
No doubt. And all those cancer researchers are going straight to Hell for interfering in "God's Domain".
Yes, we must not ever “unnaturally” extend life or cheat death!

The system is easily abusable, and if the appropriate nods and winks are there, it will be abused. How the heck did Terri Schiavo get into a hospice with this “six months death” rule, for one thing? She was there for years before the ghouls seriously addressed their goal of having her snuffed.

Totally agree with you. My grandmother passed away 2 months ago from Alzheimers. We knew she was going down fast so we called in Hospice. The last 2 weeks of her life she stopped eating completely. She could no longer swallow. Sure, we could have put in a feeding tube, but what kind of life would that have been for her? She’d still be laying up in a bed in a nursing home, basically unconscience. That’s no way to live.
Now for the real bad news to you, OB, and your countrymen. From what I have seen, the health care being proposed by the dems for you and yours is not along the lines of the much maligned Canadian model. It isn’t even close to the horrific UK model. You should be so lucky. It is far closer to the pre WW II German model or the post WW II Soviet model.
My American friends on FR are in for a rude and painful shock if Obama and the gang are able to pull this off.
What do you see that makes it different. That would make it the model you describe?
Nonsense! The hospice nurses who took care of one of my family members in New Jersey did an excellent job of caring for her, right up until God took her home. And that’s in the lap of socialist NJ.
