Max's budget-gimmick magic

The Senate Finance Committee will perpetrate a huge fraud on the US public today. Chairman Max Baucus promises to hold a final vote on his health-care overhaul -- most of whose costs he has hidden with budgetary gimmicks.

The widely reported numbers are wrong: This bill would increase the deficit and cost more than $2 trillion over 10 years.

Yes, the headlines on the Congressional Budget Office's preliminary cost estimate were that the bill could cost $829 billion over 10 years and trim the federal deficit by $81 billion. But those numbers are pure fantasy -- as CBO plainly, if gently, indicated.

Might as well destroy the Health Care right along with Free Enterprise. The citizens have FAILED. There are not enough of us left. We have become a country populated by Losers and they are allowed to vote. Survival in the future is what we need to be looking at. Now I know how Sitting Bull felt.

Liberals have problems with the concept of cause and effect. They are simply incapable of realizing you can’t have one without the other. All they see is the golden egg. The golden egg is the effect, but the don’t see the cause, the goose. They honestly think you can affect one without affecting the other.

Taxes are the golden egg. Taxpayers, meaning those who actually produce something and pay taxes with real money as a result, are the goose. There’s a finite limit to how much you can increase the production of golden eggs without adversely affecting the goose.

In the America where I grew up it was called killing the goose that lays the golden egg. In today’s world it’s called fairness.
