Just heard on WMAL that Chris Plante is returning to the WMAL lineup in his old spot...he will return to WMAL next Monday!
I just heard. I can’t believe it. Grandy and Andy must have rebelled finally having to keep going during the BIG HOUR. I was one of the people who sent them the bitter emails! Nice to know someone read them.
I heard it this morning. I am so excited. It has made my day. Good job to all of those who emailed and called WMAL. No more Morning Joe.
On the rare occasions I heard him, Joe just droned. It was that woman I could not stand.
I just heard it too and I couldn’t be more delighted. Obviously, by their own admission, management was moved by the outpouring of emails. Many Freepers played a role in bringing him back but the main effort was I’m sure from our own Sylvie in Waldorf. Take a bow, Sylvie!
I think five hours a day of Grandy and Andy was too much, everyone knew it, and when they went looking for new conservative talent to fill that slot every day, they could find no one better than Chris.
I know what you mean. My son also refused to listen to it. He tried but he was always screaming at the radio and I was afraid he was going to break it.
I took to listening to Laura, which was okay, but you can’t beat Chris. Can’t wait until Monday.
So here’s the article from WMAL (just came up):

You spoke (man did you speak,) and we listened (finally!) We received thousands and thousands and thousands of emails, phone calls and letters... even a few smoke signals (OK, maybe not that last thing,) and they all said the same thing: WE... WANT... CHRIS!!
Thank God for second chances and persistent listeners like you.
Please join us in welcoming back a conservatives conservative, Chris Plante to the 9am-noon slot, beginning Monday. Hes always insightful, often outspoken, frequently fearless and predictably unpredictable, but be forewarned... Chris hasnt spoken in 6 months... he has a LOT to say.
Thanks for your patience. Please be sure to tell your friends that Chris is back on 630 WMAL. See ya Monday morning at 9!
Maybe we should all email WMAL and thank them for doing the right thing. I’m gong to after I get back from exercise class. Let’s just say that my original email wasn’t very nice. :}
I could not stand the Scarborough show, and so I started listening to the podcast of the previous night’s Mark Levin show. Free podcast download onto the Ipod each morning and you can listen to a 3 hour radio show in 1 hour 47 minutes without commercials. I recommend it highly.

Well, I don’t know who the guy is, but I listen to WMAL at work, to catch the Rush Limbaugh show since I can’t get him locally. I have to listen online. I have turned it on about half hour before Rush and have listened to the very UN-impressive Joe Scarborough. I guess I’ll be checking in to listen to Chris Plante!
Hallelujah! Goodbye to Morning Schmoe and welcome back Chris.
Chris is very good, he’s bounced around WMAL. He used to have the evening slot following Mark Levin, then they moved hom to mornings.
GREAT NEWS!!!
I gather Chris was the secret in studio guest!!! I can listen to the radio again between 10am and Noon.
What? No more Joe and Mika? I am so sad... not!
I either listened to Laura Ingram or kept the radio turned off during the 10-noon timeframe.
Maryland “Freak State” PING!
So much for ‘Morning Joe’ Scarborough’s dreams of a Rush Limbaugh-sized radio contract. His syndicated program, launched after news of El Rushbo’s unprecedented nine-figure signing bonus rocked broadcasting and sent a fresh round of pundits searching for their own timeslot, is in deep trouble today with the loss of a key affiliate.
WMAL-AM’s cancellation of the midmorning program is a double-blow for the MSNBC talker, as the station is owned and operated by his syndicator, Citadel Communications.
That does not bode well for the show’s future in other cities. It’s a clear sign of deep concern at the corporate level and may suggest his future removal from WABC-AM in New York City.
Some listeners found Scarborough’s positions confusing, especially as he alternated between more liberal views on MSNBC and somewhat conservative takes during the radio program, heard just a short time apart each morning.
During Scarborough’s tenure at WMAL, station ratings suffered as the station sunk to 15th overall, despite much stronger showings from Rush Limbaugh (8th), Sean Hannity (10th) and Mark Levin that could not offset greater weakness in earlier dayparts.
In a good sign for local news-talk, WMAL has announced that his replacement will be Chris Plante, who had previously been canned to make way for Scarborough and co-host Mika Brzezinski.

Joe Scarborough is a no talent POS.
