It’s about time someone hold their feet to the fire. They lie up one side and down the other. Well, I hope to hell that this group and Rush take them to court for everything they have...then donate it to his charity. The trouble is we let the opposition get away with things. The time has come to stop it and put an end to it. They can damn wll put their money where their big lying mouths are. Enough is enough. Prove it or apologize.

He may be able to use the proceeds to fund his stake in buying St. Louis. That would be sweet.

There was someone on yesterday that I saw. He was extremely nasty and saying all kinds of things about Rush. He was on MSNBC of course and I think his name started with a V. Rush was including him today when discussing this.

WHen they are faced with proving that their statements are true, they crawl back into their holes and curl up into the fetal position and suck their thumbs.

Oh no - burden of proof is on Rush.

Remember what Mary Mapes taught us. :)

I believe part of the law requires a demand to retract the statement before the suit can go forward.

In this case, they added the step of daring them to source the quote, which drags it out a bit and makes then look even worse when the case is filed, i.e., what if he did say it 11 years ago as a joke and he doesn’t remember it?

By demanding the source, they smoke out the possible basis of the statement.

If they cannot, then it will look like they made it up after the lawsuit because they did not have it in their possession at the time.

He testified that it is false and damaged him.

Their defense is that it is true, and they have the burden of going forward with the evidence to prove their defense.

Rush should get the best lawyer money can buy and take them to court for libel.

I know - I was being sarcastic.

In the aftermath of the Dan Rather National Guard Scandal, Mapes defended the report saying that it wasn’t journalists’ responsibility to prove it. It was Bush’s responsibility to prove the report false.

I can prove the Rush did not say it. Had he said it, it would have been repeated and trumpeted by the drive-by media ad nauseum for years and years and years.

The fact that this is the very first time we have heard this “quote” is PROOF that Limbaugh did not say it.

I rest my case.

Just sent this note to Rick Sanchez:

“I find it unconscionable that a news gathering organization would attribute a quote to someone as closely watched as Rush Limbaugh to Wikipedia - are you a laughing stock or what? At the very least you should apologize to your audience for such shoddy journalistic practices - and such evident and obvious hypocrisy. I won't hold my breath...but I am laughing - at you.”

Whatever happens, if it goes to lawsuit and is settled out of court, one of the requirements should be for Mathtews, et al to stand in a line and kiss Rush’s ass.

Is this Rick Sanchez’ Dan Rather moment? What a patent JOKE! Laughable...they are really fools, aren’t they? And yet they think they’re wise..

NewsBusters Publisher Bozell insisted in a statement, arguing that if the charges are undocumentable, the offending networks are "100% guilty of character assassination." The accusations against Limbaugh came in the wake of reports the radio talk show host is part of a group bidding for ownership of the St. Louis Rams NFL franchise.
