The Judge in Georgia threatened to fine Orly $10,000 and then upped the fine to $20,000 to launder the payola through his favorite his favorite charity. The Judge ordered the Asst. US Attorney to write a brief to sign off on the scam to give the Judge plausible deniability, i.e. "Hey, the Asst. US Attorney said it was okay."

Scam? The National Infantry Foundation was established in 1998 to honor our Nation’s Infantrymen – past, present and future – and to preserve their legacy through the construction and operation of the new, world-class National Infantry Museum and Soldier Center in Columbus, Georgia. I'd personally rather money go towards something like this to honor our military servicmembers, than to have the money added to the Obama Administration coffers.

Construction contracts? If Judge Soprano is merely trying to raise cash for construction contracts for some good ol' boys in the Columbus area, then that's different. I hope the Asst US Attorney signs off on the scam deal.
