I’m in New York State and have this great vision of Texas as the place to retire someday... then I see D-TX next to Ms. Jackson Lee’s name. Why is she in office? Other than running an Acorn branch office, what talent does this person have? Seriously.

There are politicians (too many to name) and others (Jane Fonda) who should have been tried for treason over the past 50 years and it hasn’t happened. The constitution no longer exists to these people and, unfortunately “these people” include the majority of U.S. citizens.
Because back in the 90's - when dimocrats still controlled the Texas legislature - they drew up the boundaries for the 18th Congressional district that would effectively guarantee that the seat would be forever held by a Queen Sheila or her equivalent. i.e. a big-government, free-lunch, anti-freedom Marxist. Go look at a map of TX-18 to see gerrymandering in action. It is perverse.
Sadly, I got taken hostage in the process and still dwell on the far NW edge of the Queen's realm. It ain't pretty.
