I think the calculation is from July to July. Last July we had extremely high gasoline and natural gas prices which have plummeted since then, thus the negative inflation rate for the year.

Negative my arse. YOU LIED.Agreed. Some years back (maybe they still do), Brazil pegged its inflation rate to the price of black beans in one state (I kid you not). When the price of beans started to escalate due to inflation, they trucked in loads of beans to depress the market.
Sniff, we are MUCH more sophisticated, we just lie.
