I found a piece that Bauer wrote about Richard Rorty that was laudatory as one might expect, but also revealed the author's zealous commitment to Progressivism as a political movement, as opposed to, say: the practice of law.

Another influence I failed to mention was Jacques Derrida, sometimes considered the father of the Deconstructionist movement (largely responsible in my opinion for the death of modern philosophy, and the dismantling of American academic standards, but that's another story).

What many of these people have in common is their cultural roots as leftist radicals and their educational pedigrees as Ivy League graduates and later, as professors. Today, they are running your government.

I usually don't watch Glen Beck all the way through for the same reasons. When he starts crying, I feel it's showmanship to a certain degree and although he doesn't lose any credibility with me in that regard, it's just unnecessary to his message. We all know we're in incredible trouble with our current leadership. If Beck led us in a simple prayer at the end of his show, he would be taking people in a positive, not angry or depressing direction, while still maintaining his dramatic style. And by doing so, he would concern those in the White House (and all who voted them in) even more, because they are not more powerful than God.

None of this is a coincidence. It requires willful blindness or a profound degree of self-deception to conclude that Obama is anything but one of them, too.

I dunno, even if we somehow manage to wrest power from this bunch (peacefully), we still have a long road to trave in re educating a couple of generations as to what this Country is really all about.

I'll also have to admit that a tear has run down my check on more that one occasion while watching what is happening.

I know, believe me. I am a graduate of one of "those" schools: you know, the ones with the ancient ivy vines on the walls. Please try not to let it diminish your opinion of me; the lessons my professors attempted to impart did not quite take in the manner they intended.

I had numerous professors who were openly Marxist, and rather proud of it. I wish that I had possessed at a young age the presence of mind to challenge them to explain the superiority of a system that even by that time (the mid '70s) had caused millions of deaths by murder, war and starvation. Instead, I mostly shut up and got decent grades by not rocking the boat, people.

I was, in my college and the years following capable of great feats of being stuporous....

I watched a special on WW 2 where a Russian machine gunner was asked if it was difficult to shoot men ...the reporters question was a typical liberal question for the bleeding hearts.....

His answer (from my memory) “ Well yes...it is difficult to shoot them...they don't stand still, they bob and weave all over the place making it difficult...but I got most of them anyway, thank goodness” smiling as he said this.....
