Sacramento, Calif. (AP) --
A nonprofit group filed a federal lawsuit Thursday seeking a decision about whether to grant added protections for the delta smelt.
The Council for Endangered Species Act Reliability alleges the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has failed to make a timely decision about the tiny silver fish. It filed suit in U.S. District Court in Sacramento.
Executive director Craig Manson said the federal agency should classify the threatened smelt as endangered under the Endangered Species Act.

When is the last time a smelt put a loaf of bread or a grape on your plate?
Those who work the fields and orchards feeel it too... but do Greens get that?

I see water needed to grow crops being used to dilute the sewage from the Bay Area and I can't fathom any of their reasoning for it.
This minnow is an invasive species and is not in danger of extinction. Salmon were spawning in the head waters of the Sacramento long before the present day delta was created or the minnow invaded from the San Francisco Bay.
Do the environmentalists see the dying farms as good for the planet?
The left is oblivious. Here we are in a major recession and their worried more about minnows than their fellow man.
