TEHRAN, Iran Iran's official news agency is reporting that at least five senior commanders of the elite Revolutionary Guard have been killed in a homicide bombing in southeastern Iran

Ping!
I think there is a very small chance Mossad may have been involved in this.
With the reports of the Ayatollah being on his deathbed, it may be some group thinks now is the time to strike and strike hard.
On the other hand, it has been usual for the regime to get rid of planeloads of unreliable commanders so they can be replaced with more obedient stooges. But bombing away Revolutionary Guards sounds like a good thing either way.
Balochi Liberation Army
In short, these asshole "guards" certainly got what was coming to them.

“Iranian commanders ‘assassinated’”
SNIPPET: “Iranian state media say at least 20 people have died in the attack, in the province of Sistan-Baluchistan.
Iran has previously accused a Sunni resistance group, Jundallah, of terrorist activities in the province.”
I would have a hard time believing Mossad agents are sent out as suicide bombers. But whenever attacks like this occur, Iran always blames the CIA and Mossad. But if reports are true that the Grand Ayatollah's health is rapidly deteriorating, or maybe be dead already, things could get very hinky in Iran's leadership in the coming weeks/months.
Or it could have been "No Achmed, I think you connect the red wire there...................."
HUMMMM, Seems the Islamofascist have found out that Amadjihad is really a Jew.
I wondered how long it would take them to get around to going after the whole bunch.
Are military people that take orders from Amadjihad considered infidels also?
Forget MOSSAD.
This is the Islamofascist getting rid of Infidels.
The Iranian website Jahan News, which is close to Iranian intelligence circles, stated that Saudi Arabia was planning to give funding to the Sunni Baluchi opposition organization Jundallah, for a school for suicide bombers in Pakistan.
They say it was a suicide mission but the guards were in a moving vehicle, getting another car close enough and setting off a bomb would be difficult, it seems more likely it was an IED style attack.
This is called ‘a good start’.
1 governor hardline cleric in the NW...5 IRGC commanders in the SE... Can we see that raised to 10 Secret Police in the NE or SW? Pretty Please?
No way, not a suicide bomber. This is locals.

Iran’s border with Pakistan? Where?
Thanks for the link just-hairyape.
I appreciate it.
I means its not like we have any troops positioned between the two./sarc
ping

The attack was reported to have occurred near Pishin, which is almost at the coast, at the very South of the Iran Pakistan border
Mmmmmm,,,Interesting,,,
Watchin’ Close...
The first attack took place at a unity gathering of Shia and Sunni tribal leaders on Sunday morning, in the Pishin area, a region situated in the borderline Province of Sistan-Balouchestan.
At around the same time, another group of IRGC commanders were caught in an explosion as their convoy came under attack at a road junction in Pishin- a region situated between the two towns of Sarbaz and Chabahar.
Reported up to 60 killed now. Looks like diplomacy time is just about over.
Iran's Revolutionary Guards accused "foreign elements" linked to the United States of involvement in Sunday's attack that killed at least two senior commanders of the elite force, state television reported.
Was waiting on that. This may be the kick off to some major fireworks...
Keep in mind that the source you are quoting (#28) is PressTV (the IRI media outlet).
Sarbaz and Chabahar have been for many years, even during the Shah’s era, hotbeds of “less-than-desirable” activities.
Jundallah has over the year & up til now been linked to MeK, the West (incl. U.S./EU), Saudi Arabia, drug barons of Pakistan & Afghanistan, and even the Shia Government of Iran, by a variety of groups & people, depending on their personal and political orientation.
>”Looks like diplomacy time is just about over.”
Whose diplomacy? A view is that Obama may even take a deeper bow next time he is granted an audience with the King at the House of Saud.
year = years
Which Islam will Obama support ? He usually goes with whatever Putin suggests and Putin loves the Iranian Shiites. But dang, he did bow to the King of Saudi Arabia and he got a real neat golden necklace.
Islam, ultimately, will support Islam (period). That’s, regardless of Sunni, Wahhabi or Shia differences (moderate or conservative). Because, the fundamental theology, doctrine and ideology are the same.
So the Iranians will publicly blame elements linked to the United States even though internally they may find out it was one of a handle of suspected groups. Sounds like the MO of half the world. Blame everything on the US.
Was that taken before or after Moozzi pulled his dress
up for a Butt-Smoooch??!!??!...(BARF!!!)...
I dont see that as a possibility.
The Revolutionary Guard is the elite government type in Iran.
They are the political players, the businessmen, the government officials.
The only time they might be near a bomb is in a terrorism school as a teacher.
looks like israel doing a little prep work!
BBC: Within hours of the attack, the Guards accused “foreign elements” - usually used to refer to the US - for the attack.
“Surely foreign elements, particularly those linked to the global arrogance, were involved in this attack,” a Guards statement quoted by state television said.
So NOW it’s a “homicide” bombing?
These are just the type of people who should have Nuclear Energy./sarc
I think the Iranian government/regime will blame Any One and Any Thing for any problems, misgivings, and so on, when it sees fit, at Any Time.
In reply to your comment: There is an infamous saying by Khomeini (Not Khamenei - the current, apparently, somewhat dead Supreme Leader). Khomeini, apparently, once said something along the lines of: If anything goes wrong blame it on America and Israel. If you can’t find anything wrong, then, find something, and, then, blamed it on America and Israel. Obviously, it is about passing the buck and not accepting responsibility for one’s own actions.
So, I guess the so-called political & religious descendants of Khomeini, in many instances, take a leaf out of his teachings. Although, it doesn’t mean the Saudis are more tolerant of the West. Only, more diplomatic & superficially less belligerent.
So will the Iranian Revolutionary Guards be forced to retaliate against the US to save face ? This is the most serious attack on Iran in quite awhile.
>”So will the Iranian Revolutionary Guards be forced to retaliate against the US to save face ? This is the most serious attack on Iran in quite awhile.”
I have no way of knowing. Your guess is as good as mine. I’d doubt it. There is a difference between rhetoric and taking action.
Were any of the 9/11 culprits Iranian nationals?
FNC has consistently used the term homicide bombing.
In fact, Fox may be the only major US news org which does so.
They have caused a lot of carnage in Iraq however. And we have numerous Naval vessels patrolling off the Persian Gulf. Just saw a Debka report (shaky to say the least) that Iran State TV is now blaming Britain of Complicity in the Attack. Interesting. Considering the British Muslim Nationals that have been linked to Terrorist acts abroad. Dang Muslims gonna start the next big one apparently. Debka also states that 5 Senior Commanders were killed. Total dead is 60-70.
>”They have caused a lot of carnage in Iraq however”
I don’t think Iraq will have stability as long as the Iranian regime is in power. Iranian regime will continue to meddle in Iraq, and they are itching to get rid of US troops & influence.
>”Considering the British Muslim Nationals that have been linked to Terrorist acts abroad.”
Yep. This isn’t simply an “Iranian Government” thing. It is an Islam thing. Most muslim Britons (especially born and bred in the UK) are Not of Iranian heritage or origins. Most are Pakistani, then from Bangladesh, and to a lesser extent from India. By majority, they are from Ex-UK colonies. Although, the Saudis do enormously fund schools all over the UK, where Salafi teachings are very prominent & influential. The Islamic (Iranian) Government also has made in-roads in education and setting up propaganda for their fundamental version of Islam. These, in combination, IMO, contribute to “home-grown”, ideologically based, terrorism.
IMO, Western government should devise strategies to counteract these influences.
