The financial crisis has many Treasury officials burning the midnight oil — a situation that’s sometimes uncomfortable for secretaries assisting key aides to Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner.
Some secretaries say they aren’t being allowed to take a day off or leave their desks -– not even to use the bathroom, eat lunch or take a day off.
“Apparently some supervisors require that their phones are never to be allowed to go to voicemail or the operator, which means the secretary is never able to leave her desk,” an email sent to more than a dozen Treasury officials reads.

Isn’t this against the law? Oh, wait. It’s the Obama administration. The law is what they say it is.
The Left is always looking out for “the little people”.

He’d deny his staff bathroom breaks, unless it was an “emergency” and would tell them to “hold it until you’re off the job”.
All the while, he’s hold conferences while sitting on the crapper taking a dump.
A secretary COULD just forward the office phone to her cell phone, unless the official routinely gets calls involving secret information. In which case she could prefix her answering the call with “Hello, this is XXX office - this is an unsecured connection, how may I help you?”
Wow! You mean to tell me that some GOVERNMENT employees are actually having to work just like us folks in the EVIL private sector? This is an outrage! These people didn’t take those gov’mint jobs to, to, to, actually have to work, for heavens sake!
They better DO something about this. Maybe they should UNIONIZE or GO ON STRIKE!

Please - no way this is true... Is it? Sounds more like one of those made-up emails. If it weren’t in the Wall Street Journal, I’d dismiss it.
Is there more to this story? I know he didn't pay his taxes, but waht is this about crack?
Of course, that is not a disqualifier in this administration. Obama used to use it himself -- perhaps still does.
I start this the same way the "Rush is a racist" story was started. So it's just as valid, truthful, and well-researched as that.
There is no doubt that anyone with geithner's background was DOING drugs in college and probably on Wall Street. No one in the administration has ever had to pass a drug screen.
I’m very happy these people are toiling so hard, making life better for all of us. The harder they work, the better things get.
Maybe they ought to join a UNION. Oh, wait....!
Are they so stupid that they’ve never heard of covering? Are their phone systems incapable of being transferred? Do they think the world will come to an end while their secretary is in the bathroom?
LOL. Well all you have to do is look at his eyes and that furtive expression to know that he is up to something — or on something.
