CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) — Police searched Tuesday for a Virginia Tech student who hasn't been seen since she was separated from her friends at a Metallica concert Saturday.
Morgan Dana Harrington, 20, was last seen near the John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville. Her parents said they talk to her every day and her disappearance is very out of character.

Kids, never allow yourself to get separated from your friends at these events. Friends, be real friends, and watch the backs of your companions. And don’t let them wander off with “some cool guy” who may turn out to be a predator.
Also, DO NOT DRINK anything that you have not actually prepared yourself. Keep an eye and a hand on your drink at all times. Best to drink nothing but bottled water that you have purchased yourself. Forget the alcohol—it only makes you stupid and unwary.

Reminds me of a case in NC a couple of years ago. I believe it was a High Point University. Anyway, kid walked home drunk from a party or concert or something and went missing. Folks searched everywhere for him for days, parents flew in to help out, but nothing. A while passed and someone found his body down an embankment face down in a creek. Seems he stumbled off the street and landed in the creek and drowned, I think. No foul play, but wasn’t with anyone and couldn’t be seen from the road. Searchers passed right by him a few times and never saw him.
Sad, but it is a consequence of too much partying. I really hope that this young lady is alright, but after this many days, you kinda have to assume the worst.
Over the years, I've known on a name basis probably half a dozen people her age to disappear out of character only to turn up a few days later having suffered onset of mental illness.
There was a missing girl around here - left a school function or something and drove home. I saw the news on it and thought “with the recent snow (a rare event around here) and where her school is, I wonder if she went off the side of the hill”.
Seems others had my same thought, and it was something like 4 or 5 days later they found her 20 feet off the road in the brush - still alive! (Two winding roads come down off the hill). She was young and strong, and recovered fully. One can hope for a similar outcome.
They found her purse and her phone. I don’t think it will end well.
Kinda strange that she walked away. It’s almost like she was meeting someone.
Might as well have been wearing a bullseye.

A 20 year old should not be a child. If she is, then it's because her parents and the nanny state never allowed her to grow up, take responsibility for her life, and get some street smarts.

I read elsewhere that she went outside for a smoke and forgot to take her ticket so they wouldn’t let her back in.
