I still see about 50% of the articles predicting hyper-inflation and 50% predicting Deflation.
I'm just amazed that there is still no consensus.

At this point, the Fed is printing money like crazy.
However, banks are not lending and consumers are not consuming.
Currently, we have deflation, because it doesn’t matter how much money has been printed; if it isn’t being used, there’s nothing to drive inflation.
My quick take, anyway.

I agree with you. There is an oversupply of money being held back by a temporary dam. The dam will break.
I look at it using a simple rule, "If you treat money like it has no value, eventually it will not".

It's a battle of Obama killing the economy, businesses and the local banking system of saving and lending money (as opposed to the New York banking system of skimming the taxpayers) versus Ben Bernanke and his magic printing press.
I'm betting both will win with a high inflation depression. No jobs plus hundred dollar bills for toilet paper. Time to see how people survived in Zimbabwe.

I agree with you. There is an oversupply of money being held back by a temporary dam. The dam will break. There is an overall destruction of money going on in our economy right now - not an increase.

Time to see how people survived in Zimbabwe. Yeah. I confess that I cannot imagine what it might be like here. The people who went through the 1930's had a clear ability to make do and take care of themselves. Today, I think a lot of people have very high expectations, no appreciable skills, and angry personalities.
There are regions of this country where people will NOT pull together and try to get through. They will simply lash out and turn their area into Sudan.
