Obama was the Illinois state senator who voted “present” 150 times rather than make choices. Obama was the “elected” editor of the Harvard Law Review who did not write articles for the publication.

Other than being elected to three public offices (state senator, US Senator, and US President), Obama is a man of limited accomplishment. For his prior two elective jobs, his major accomplishment was infrequently being present in the chamber. He spent most of his time as an elected official in campaign mode for the next job, not actually doing any real work as a legislator.

Having not accomplished anything of significance, Obama has no concept of personal accountability. His life history is one of standing in the limelight, receiving adulation for merely being there, not for having produced anything with his own mind or sweat. The Nobel Peace Price is another example of Obama being lauded for merely being present. He is the product of affirmative action, not years of labor in pursuit of a lofty goal.

Real leaders, who have reached positions of significant responsibility based on real accomplishments achieved over a number of years, understand accountability. The do not whine and blame, they persevere in the face of adversity by setting a course, developing a plan, and executing the plan. If the plan isn’t working, they admit the need for a course correction, modify the plan, and continue to move forward. When the goal is accomplished, they share the credit with those who helped them get there. A real leader understands she/he is not alone, they can only accomplish great things with the energy and commitment of individuals who share their goals.

As a man of limited accomplishments, Obama has no concept of the satisfaction one realizes when one achieves great things by struggling with and overcoming significant obstacles. He also has no appreciation for delayed gratification, having risen quickly while basking in the praise of naive and morally bankrupt admirers. Just as a spoiled child will not develop backbone or character as long as mommy and daddy are there to cater to its whims, Obama will not accept accountability or assume characteristics of a great leader while his fans on the left continue to applaud him for reading the teleprompter. Like the spoiled child, he will continue to accuse those who disagree with him of being mean. He will also continue to blame others for his own failures.

I have no expectation Obama will suddenly grow up and become a real leader. A man of no accomplishments cannot understand the leader’s responsibility for dealing with the consequences of his actions, whether intended or not intended. Expect more whining and blaming as the road gets tougher.
