No its nothing to do with that. It’s a legacy of Britain’s colonial history. “Asian” in Britain means “someone from the indian sub-continent”.

What in the USA are called asians are known as orientals in the UK.

Ahh, I see. Thanks for clearing that up for me. I’ve always said that the U.S. and the U.K. are two countries separated by a common language.

no we always reffered to them as paki’s even when I was a kid.

It is now PC to call them Asian thus lumping an entire continent together even though they do not look the same.

That show how ignorant the left is and are.

Far as I am concerned and everyone I know in Salford then they still are Paki’s, we say Brits do we not, we say Afghans do we not ?

yes we do so I and other refer to them of what they are.

What is amazing how folks in England fall into line with the BBC/guardian PC crap.
