Condoleezza Rice: American spirit will lead
Booker Rising ^

Former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice told a Jackson crowd Tuesday night about the importance of America's role in spreading democracy globally in a speech that frequently, if not explicitly, advocated and defended Bush-era foreign policy.

"The American spirit will lead the world," she said in ending her speech, which drew a standing ovation. "In its absence, the world would be a much, much worse place. ... If we're OK, everyone else will be OK, too."

Rice, whose speech was part of Union University's scholarship banquet, also got applause for urging less federal involvement in the American economy, saying it should be driven by the much more "innovative" and "creative" private sector.

Phoenix rising again. She went a bit wobbly when she was at the State Department but hopefully she will rise again with more Conservative tendencies. Go Condi!

Condoleezza Rice has lost a lot of status in my eyes. Absolute silence when Limbaugh was being pilloried by the NFL, the media and the unCivil Rights activists. This after Rush spent the last 8+ years defending and praising Ms Rice.
Condi, we hardly knew yee.

Let’s be honest here, the American spirit of “democracy” leadership in the world is a bit shabby around the edges for the last twenty years.

We were not extactly trustworthy in our financial dealings and leadership in the world. We have led the world into economic crisis. What our liberal elite push in the world is the big fat lie of global warming chicken littleism, population control in the name of women’s health, and an amoral social agenda. We no longer promote our constitution’s ideals of freedom. Democracy is not freedom. Saddam was elected to office according to liberals - in a land slide.

We are not exactly a shining city on the hill material in our current power structure. We are more like a human hating, immoral and financially corrupt influence. It’s sad but we have to admit change is needed and needed quick if we are to avoid the consequences of global liberalism.

Saw someone on Kudlow last night call Obama’s foreign policy ‘special olympics where everyone wins and everyone gets a C+’.

Sounds about right.
(PS don’t flame me for the Special Olympics comment, I didn’t say it. Got a better term?)

What a baseless accusation.

Rice was our Secretary of State. She has credibility ONLY in that area, and for that reason confines herself to speaking about foreign policy. That is only appropriate: doing otherwise would only demean her status and make her less effective.

You speak of Rush vs. Rice as if they formed a club. Rush was defending a principle: he did not speak in defense of Rice but against unwarranted ATTACKs against her. True, she may have benefited from his posture, but that is NOT what he was doing. She owes him nothing.

I think he is leaving a power vacuum that will cause an ally or the US to get invaded and/or nuked.

Sadly, by the time Obama is done nobody on this globe will have any faith in our commitment to spread democracy. No one will want to join in our efforts only to risk being abandoned to tyrants after our next election.

I don’t pay much attention to what she has to say. When she was asked who’d she’d be voting for in ‘08 she refused to say. To me, I got the distinct feeling she’d be punching the ballot for Hussein. She and Powell - useless RINOs.
