Dear Newt Gingrich: Meet Ronald Reagan
Michellemalkin.com ^ | 10/21/09 | Michelle Malkin

Posted on 10/21/2009 9:27:27 PM PDT by pissant

So, Newt Gingrich is invoking Reagan to defend his endorsement of radical leftist Dede Scozzafava in the NY-23 special congressional election?

Triple-gag:

“If you seek to be a perfect minority, you’ll remain a minority,” says Gingrich. “That’s not how Reagan built his revolution or how we won back the House in 1994.”

Let’s quote Reagan back to Gingrich, shall we? From his seminal 1975 CPAC address:

Let our banner proclaim our belief in a free market as the greatest provider for the people.

Let us also call for an end to the nit-picking, the harassment and over-regulation of business and industry which restricts expansion and our ability to compete in world markets.

Let us explore ways to ward off socialism, not by increasing government’s coercive power, but by increasing participation by the people in the ownership of our industrial machine.

Our banner must recognize the responsibility of government to protect the law-abiding, holding those who commit misdeeds personally accountable.

And we must make it plain to international adventurers that our love of peace stops short of “peace at any price.”

We will maintain whatever level of strength is necessary to preserve our free way of life.

A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which must not be compromised to political expediency, or simply to swell its numbers.

I do not believe I have proposed anything that is contrary to what has been considered Republican principle. It is at the same time the very basis of conservatism. It is time to reassert that principle and raise it to full view. And if there are those who cannot subscribe to these principles, then let them go their way.

Perhaps it is time to go your own way, with Al Sharpton and Nancy Pelosi:

Shoot, Newt, take your loot and scoot before we give you the boot. You're as moot as a polyester suit. You're no longer cute or remotely astute.

It's like Pelosi lifted her cheek to toot, and you smelled fruit. So don't pollute or dilute the conservative root by playing the Scozzafava flute. The indigestion you cause is acute.

From now on, we'll recruit, you just salute. Compute?

I gotta say pissant, you sometimes can be a...well...pissant but that was pretty clever.

As to a Pubbie majority - yes there will always be slightly different shades of Pubbies whether one likes it or not. But what the RNC can’t do is send in major $ for a candidate that is the antithesis of a conservative. She doesn’t even come close to a camoflauged RHINO. And she wouldn’t need Rambo RNC playing Daddy Warbucks at the last minute if she was a true Pubbie.

RNC - winning one seat is not worth the bad PR that trickles down to the base. What she get? $100,000? And it cost the RNC probably $5,000,000 in future contributions to the party. That’s just suicidal.

Wait and see. Hannity will have him on his radio show before a week goes by. He can't get enough of the guy. Go figure...

Casich, Daniels, Palin for starters. Jindahl, Pawlenty if he ...nevermind.

Newt’s been swimming with sharks, but it’s good to remove him from the ‘12 pool which this just did.

I’d love to hear Rush ask him: WHY...wtf are you thinking asshat?

Carl Rove, Newt Gingrich and a few others are the meat and potatoes guests for O'Reilly (on our verbotten list due to his pandering) and Hannity. It's refreshing to watch Glenn Beck, as these two aren't on the revolving door guest list there. We're good with Michelle Malkin whenever and wherever she appears, and we miss getting Ben Stein's opinions. Geraldo, the body language lady, the PETA gal, and the fired Marc Lamont Hill earned them a TV turnoff. If it weren't for Cavuto and Beck, we'd ship the satellite dish back.

It is a shame, but Newt has clearly lost the plot.

Newt’s worn out his welcome.

I have a hard time listening to Newt wax on about the Gipper.

Newt and Kasich threw away Reagan's economic growth paradigm, and replaced it with phony balanced budgets. In my book, they're as responsible as Bush Sr. for the death (or, we hope, the protracted coma) of Reaganomics.

Newt had his moment and now it is gone. He is a guy who will use government also. Just on his personal pet programs. I remember him talking about giving every child in America a laptop computer.

He is just another Teddy Roosevelt style progressive.

I heard him on Wilkow today give a rational explanation of his stance.

He said he wouldn't have picked her as a candidate but she is better that a win by the socialist and has promised him to support the GOP, vote no on all Obama bills like cap and trade and obama care, supports gun rights, will vote against Pelosi for speaker, is endorsed by the NRA, and would rather see her win and keep the seat Republican than give the win to the democrats for them to spin.

Talked about winning 3 out of 3 this election day, the other 2 being the governors races, and how that would give the GOP momentum towards 2010.

Also said she was picked locally by local people and he wasn't happy with her but losing was worse, because the BIG PICTURE IS GETTING RID OF PELOSI AS SPEAKER.

Looking at it from that perspective which is that stupid San Francisco botoxed face marxist imbecile is 2 heartbeats from POTUS and is damaging the nation irreparably, shoving her red agenda our throats with glee and arrogance, I think he makes some sense.
