Man pleads guilty to DWI in La-Z-Boy

A Minnesota man has pleaded guilty to driving his motorized La-Z-Boy chair while drunk. . . .

Police said the chair was powered by a converted lawnmower and had a stereo and cup holders.

In general, I understand and approve of DUI laws. Drunks in motor vehicles pose an immediate danger to ordinary citizens. What possible purpose is served by prosecuting this guy though? Has there been a series of La-Z-Boy v. pedestrian collisions where the pedestrian was injured by the impact from a 3 mph easy chair? Or is this just revenue generation for a bunch of losers who would rather hassle a harmless guy with a sense of humor than go after real criminals who do pose a danger to society?

Not sure if the blades are still hooked up but I did love NHR sticker on the upper part of the chair. Bet this is a feisty old timer.
