Fortune magazine separately said that it plans to shave the number of issues that it publishes a year to 18 from 25.

How is putting out a third less of a product going to help? Sounds like it's the product that isn't wanted as opposed to ad revenue.

The job cuts at Time Inc -- which publishes Time magazine, People, Sports Illustrated and Fortune -- would be at about the same level as the division cut last year

So, it isn't because of this year's recession. Wonder if they cut jobs at this time of year two years, three years, four years ago.
