British backpackers holidaying in Australia are returning home with much more than a suntan, as a result of having unprotected sexual intercourse with multiple partners and helping to spread sexually transmitted diseases around the country.
A survey of 1,008 backpackers at hostels in Sydney and the Queensland city Cairns found that British backpackers often had triple the number of sexual partners they would have normally at home, even if they were not single on arrival.

Well they are “Back Packers”
I wonder if David Letterman has been there lately too? I bet he spread his STDs all through CBS.
Geez! What a bunch of pigs.
Well, you can’t very well get a sexually transmitted disease from a British backpayer unless you, er, cooperate. So this may be partly an Ozzie problem, eh?
LOL
I read a survey years ago that said Australian women were the most promiscuous in the Western world. This seems to confirm that.
They’re just ecstatic to sleep with someone whose teeth are straight.
The article did not mention the sex of the back packers. In hostels, people are mostly tourists on a budget. That’s people of both sexes. Probably most of the illicit sex was between tourists. Thus, they are spreading STDs all over the globe.
I wonder if the survey you read years ago was truly scientific or published by some barefoot cruise company trying to get more young men aboard for their Sydney cruises.
IOW, one has to assume Aussie gals are promiscuous rather than deduce it from the article.
Must outlaw backpacks . . .
I thought it was the Outback, not the Bareback...
