Yes. I was thinking about the 1000 dead mentioned. (...the United States reels from...over 1,000 deaths)

Wikipedia informs: “In Philadelphia for example, 4,597 people died in the week ending October 16 [1918].”

With WWI soldiers cramped into ships, no tamiflu and no antibiotics for secondary infections.

Our medicine and circumstances are not sitting in 1918.
