International day of demonstrations on climate change (Envirowacko's are saving the world today)

From seabeds to mountaintops, people around the world were staging a day of demonstrations Saturday to call for urgent action on climate change.

The events were being coordinated by a group called 350.org, whose name refers to the parts per million of carbon dioxide it considers the safe upper limit for our atmosphere.

The group said it wants to "inspire the world to rise to the challenge of the climate crisis" ahead of the United Nations climate change conference in Copenhagen, Denmark, in December.

Divers at the Great Barrier Reef in Australia and in the ocean off the Maldives held banners with the 350 logo. Skiers and snowboarders formed the number 350 on a snow-covered slope in Wanaka, New Zealand, and hikers unfurled a 350 banner atop Vinson Massif, the tallest mountain in Antarctica.

Other events around the world were planned for Saturday, from Britain and Zimbabwe to Bermuda and Guatemala, according to 350.org.

In all, more than 5,400 rallies and demonstrations were scheduled to take place around the world, all of them centered on the number 350, the group said.

The number of 350 ppm originally came from a NASA research team headed by American climate scientist James Hansen, which surveyed both real-time climate observations and emerging paleo-climatic data in January 2008, according to 350.org.

It concluded that atmosphere containing carbon dioxide above 350 ppm couldn't support life on earth as we know it, the group said.

I wish you Freepers would get off your lazy butts and go do something important like protesting in order to save the world from SUV's and farting cattle.

Of course, no one thinks of the scientists who actually do the work, designing new technology.

This resurgence of people who believe in an anthropocentric Universe, who neglect the overwhelming importance of the uncontrollable 864,400 mile-wide fusion fire ball just 93 million miles away, the spew of aerosols from even a modest volcanic eruption, or the showers of cosmic rays raining down on the inner solar system, to name but a few, is very disturbing. Fear is what drives these people, a kind of butt-stupid that betrays a harvest of dependency-minded individuals who have been taught to fear themselves as individuals.

I would have despaired had the political will behind this Mass Movement not started to collapse about a year ago.

The thing is, the burden of proof has always been on the side of the alarmists, though they might like to believe it's the other way around. All that's been necessary to begin letting air out of their balloon is to sew doubt. And there are plenty of reasons to doubt this reckless power grab by internationalists.

Everything centers on carbon dioxide, a trace gas that pales in comparison to water vapor. Any honest examination apart from the increasingly shrill emotionalism (that has no place in science, where "consensus" is just another way of saying "not enough facts") and the hucksters of this garbage end up with nothing but egg on their faces.

This struggle is as important to the survival of our independence as the the Health Care grab, and fearlessness and confidence and honest questions have to continue, in the face of their only weapon, baseless school yard ridicule.

The evidence is on the side of calm.

Caveat: P&T are atheists and use foul language, so don’t click if they are not your cup of tea. I though this particular bit they did was PRICELESS though!
