Is Mayor Daley Looking To Lease Water System? (sell all possible -lost ObamaOlympic pork?)

Private Firm Would Jack Up Rates For Residents, Watchdogs Warn _________________________________________________________

If the parking meter deal put a bad taste in your mouth, try swallowing this:

Chicago is considering leasing its water system to help fix the budget.

The new boss could charge whatever they want for water, CBS 2's Roseanne Tellez reports.

Could it happen here in Chicago? It already has nearby. Homer Glen in Will County relies on Lake Michigan water, but the supply comes from a German-owned firm. Locals say there's a lot more than water going down the drain.

It's a vital resource you can't live without. But in Homer Glen, the question is can you afford water. Residents say rates are breaking the bank.

Homer Glen resident Lillie Gajda said her family has tried to cut back to offset high rates.

"Oh, we do everything -- we've changed out toilets, we've changed our showerheads, we've changed faucets, we've changed dishwashers," she said.

Mayor Jim Daley says residents pay about three times more than those in neighboring communities. He said Illinois-American Water Co. offers the same explanation.

"They simply say that they have infrastructure improvements they need to make, that they can show their costs," he said. "What we're saying: It's absolutely absurd."

But Could Chicago be next? A trade publication says the city's Department of Water Management is "considering a lease of its water and wastewater system."

Unreal .. he's liquidating all he can. Billions gone, into the pockets of unions, machine insiders, cronies, suspect deals, programs and purchases. Chicago Way and 'pay to play' are apparently no lie.

Everything below the federal government has to deal with reality, so it will become much more fiscally conservative/libertarian.

Sad to say but if the RNC had backed good conservative candidates in NJ, and New York instead of who they did,we could have shut down a lot of zeros entire initiative,if we manage to win in NJ and the indy in NY maybe we still can.

And then there’s maybe VA

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Excerpt:
While Christie has been held to finance limits imposed by accepting pubic funding, Corzine has undertaken a personal spending orgy. Pumping more then $25 million of his estimated $400 million Goldman Sachs fortune into his campaign, he has relentlessly attacked Christie for meaningless reasons including receiving traffic tickets, a bogus claim that Christie wants to restrict access to mammograms, and even using Christie’s physical appearance to disparage him.
Welcome to the thunderdome of New Jersey politics.
That this race is so close at this late stage can only be construed as a stinging rebuke of Governor Corzine and his hideous stewardship.
If Corzine loses, it will be an upset of stunning proportions, solely in regards to a Republican winning in such a Northeastern liberal fortress as New Jersey. If he wins, it will only be an expected liberal New Jersey outcome.
As a political side show, politicians and pundits alike have opined that this election is also a referendum on the Obama agenda.
Ooops .. I mixed up NJ text with my
comment about VA.
~~~~~~~~~~~

Excerpt:

Conditions look even tougher for Democrats in Virginia. A recent survey by Public Policy Polling showed Deeds trailing Republican Bob McDonnell by 12 points.

Obama’s approval rating among white Virginia voters has slipped 3 points since the 2008 election, and, compounding the problem, black voters are not as excited about Deeds as they were about Obama, said Ron Faucheux, president of Clarus Research Group, a polling firm.

Worse for the Democrats, if any one constituency is energized this season it’s conservatives, who are angry about rising deficits, some pollsters said.

“There’s real anger on the right, and that anger isn’t matched by enthusiasm on the left,” said Dean Debnam, president of Public Policy Polling. “So the emotion is on the side of the far right. And voting has become very emotional.”

A clean sweep by Democrats looks unattainable. So for Obama, the question is how much to invest in what could turn out to be losing candidacies.

What’s unreal about it? The traitors in Congress and the Federal Reserve sold us out to foreign interests long ago so that they could keep spending as much as they wanted for all their BS pork projects and other kumbaya ideas du jour on the backs of the 50% of Americans that actually pay income tax. Not to mention that they pander for votes from the poor and non-citizens by promising them milk and honey that they can never deliver. The game is up now though, the US is bankrupt and vultures are coming home to roost. Our only hope is for the states to organize and keep all the money we earn local and then only what’s constitutionally legal to flow up to the bozos in congress. Otherwise, all those street urchins and left wing moonbats that demonrats promised free bennies will soon be going on the hunt in our neighborhoods. It might be prudent to invest in zombie killers.

It's time to rebel here in Chicago. After the parking fiasco it will be interesting if Da Mayor wants to piss us off even more. Do I hear Waterloo, Mista Mayor?

Don’t know much about the current political landscape, but for most of his reign, Daley has been vastly superior to the alternatives.

Alarming, ain’t it?
