White House Attempts to De-Legitimize FOX News
The Woodward Report ^ | October 25, 2009 | Brian Woodward

Posted on 10/25/2009 12:46:47 PM PDT by thisisthetime

In the most overt ploy yet to control the media the Obama Administration attempted to prevent FOX News from interviewing Pay Czar Kenneth Feinberg on Thursday. At the same time the White House granted permission to interview Feinberg to CNN, ABC, CBS, and NBC.

This came on the heels of David Axelrod’s appearance on ABC’s This Week where he asserted that FOX was not a real news organization urging that other authentic news organizations such as ABC “ought not to treat them that way”.

This is simply a continuation of strategies derived from Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals in which Rule 5 of the Chapter on Tactics states “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon. It’s hard to counterattack ridicule, and it infuriates the opposition, which then reacts to your advantage.”

What the White House didn’t count on was that their perceived lap-dogs at the other networks would refuse the interview unless FOX was given the same opportunity. This of course will be swept away by other political happenings in the coming days. However, it is important to note that this administration will stop at nothing to control the outflow of information and opinion in regards to the policy they are attempting to impose. In this case the administration made a huge gaffe. Anytime CNN, ABC, CBS, and NBC come to the defense of a competitor in FOX News it is clear there has been some sort of foul play...

"It behooves every man who values liberty of conscience for himself, to resist invasions of it in the case of others; or their case may, by change of circumstances, become his own. It behooves him, too, in his own case, to give no example of concession, betraying the common right of independent opinion . . . ." --Thomas Jefferson to Benjamin Rush, 1803.

"The basis of our governments being the opinion of the people, the very first object should be to keep that right; and were it left to me to decide whether we should have a government without newspapers or newspapers without a government, I should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter." --Thomas Jefferson to Edward Carrington, 1787.

It would be wise for the Mainstream Media (if they weren’t so in BED with the Lyin’ King!) to remember the poem about Nazi Germany, and then paraphrase it for today’s times:

At first he went after Rush;
But I don’t LIKE Rush so I did nothing.
Then they banned Savage:
But Savage is crazy so I let it slide.
Then he went after FOXNEWS:
But I was GLAD to see that happen ha ha ha!
But then they came for ME,
And there was nobody LEFT to defend the First Amendment.

I bet a lot of the support for Fox from the MSM comes from people who may one day have to apply there for a job.

Great “poem” or “saying.”

May I appropriate it for the local newspaper?

Had Fox a bit of common sense, they’d be advertising themselves as “a network so awesome, even the White House wants to shut them up”. But they aren’t. They’re almost like all the other networks. It’s just that they won’t align.

Like in China in 1949, this Maoist regime wants to turn the media into nothing more than propaganda tools. Their problem is that they have forgotten Mao’s dictum that power comes from the barrel of a gun.

America’s descent to the status of Banana Republic has been breath-taking in its rapidity.

At least one of them hasn't.

Wow, when it comes to maintaining a strangle-hold over their legacy media lapdogs, the obama coercion machine rolls in high gear. No wavering, no waffling, just decisive action. Go after Fox, use them as an example to keep the minions in line.

Too bad obama can't act more like a President and CIC, and give us some decisive (and correct for a change) action on oh ... how about the shooting wars in Iraq and Afghanistan? You know, where US Citizens are dying every day? Guess we all see where obama's priorities are.

Yes of Course! The original, of course was regarding Nazi Germany and was written by Martin Niemoller, a Christian Pastor. However, it is fairly well known, so people will recognize the format.

I don’t think I’ll quote THAT guy anymore.

Only 5742 views! Right!

You don't believe it because there are 5742 views, or you don't believe that there are only 5742 views?

Because there are only... With a country of 350,000,000+ there should be more! This has direct bearing on everyone future yet only a small few are asking questions.
Also I know they have been playing with numbers on counters for videos just to make people wonder “what nobody else is paying attention”.
especially after being on Beck’s show last week I would guess the real number is 10 times at least by now.
