I always also mention that I have laid off all of my staff (true). I say it in a calm manner, of course.
I think it is good to do this because, even tho the person on the other end of the line is just a ‘lowly’ clerk/inside sales rep, they are usually pretty young and I think they need to experience, first-hand, the impact that a weak economy has directly on them; my small business is struggling, so I can’t order from them.
I actually had one young lady ask me when she should call me back and I told her, “Oh, I’m sure you’ll be following the news and will hear when President Obama has sent bailout checks to all of us small companies, so when you hear on the news that President Obama is sending money to small business owners then be sure to give me a call”. She chuckled and said, “I hear you”.
My family (we are family-owned) has heard me do this schtick so many times now that they just roll their eyes when I launch into it :)

Really? I hadn’t seen any stories on this. Bush’s golf outings were widely reported. Wonder why Obama’s aren’t? I also wonder how he can swing a golf club with the media’s collective heads up his ass.

Any day now, President Barack Obama will be calling me with an offer I can’t refuse.
I can just feel it. He’s going to make me czar of the Chicago Way.
“Look, let me be clear, dude, you’ve got to help me,” Obama will say, if he ever does call me, probably at about 3 a.m. “Every time I read the paper or watch Fox News when Rahm and David let me, somebody is throwing around ‘The Chicago Way’ like they know what they’re talking about. And it’s all your fault.”

“Yes, you. You started it. I read in the Tribune that you’ve mentioned it in at least 120 columns. Now they’re all using it. The Wall Street Journal, blogs, puff pieces in magazines, bed-wetting liberals, red-meat conservatives. That guy on Fox News was doing the baseball bat scene from ‘The Untouchables,’ for God’s sake. They don’t know jack about Chicago. You started it! You stop it! STOP IT!”

He is after all only a tender young lad, I prefer that he not have to wait nearly so long.
It just shows how much more organized President Obama is than GWB was and how Prez O has mastered delegating responisbility of running the country to all of the czar’s he has appointed to do his job for him. And by not wasting his time making decisions on things like ‘troops in Afghanistan’ he has more time to play golf, basketball, and have “night’s out” with the missus.
Obama's problem is that we won't be diverted. We are focusing on the policies.

Having been in the Army in Washington, when Saddam invaded Kuwait, I’ll defend GHWB. The afternoon of the invasion, there were study teams put together at DIA and the old Army ITAC. The next morning a dozen of us from ITAC reported to the Army Operations Center intel watch to reinforce it. The AOC was in full operation with planning, logistics, and reserve callup sections active.
Units were being notified for deployment and a brigade of the 82nd Airborne was on the way to Saudi Arabia within 72 hours of the invasion. With modern communications, Bush gave the order to mobilize and it was carried out. There was no need, other than ‘show’ for him to rush to DC to appear to be in charge.

His wife has to be the laziest First Lady ever and it seems this man is up there to.
I'm not too sure about that. I think I'd have trouble keeping up with her gallivanting/sightseeing vacation/tour she is on.

The only “church” Obama belongs to is the church of Alinsky.
I read Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals” back in August. If there ever was a destestable work, it would be that.
It even had a dedication to Lucifer, if you can believe that.
In the book (which is the BIBLE of scumbag “Community Organizers”) Alinsky states that you need to integrate and ingratiate yourself into a community. If you don’t belong to a church, join one.
To Alinsky, Obama and others like him, religion is a tool to be used, no if’s, and’s or but’s about it.
Interestingly, the dedication to Lucifer was removed in later printings (through the Sixties and probably the Seventies) because he didn’t want the church to reject the book on the basis of that. The copy I got from the library was an even later edition printed in the 1980’s, and they apparently thought it was then okay to put the dedication to Lucifer back in.
Nah.
Time to spend some vacation time in his dacha on Chesapeake Bay.
